Housekeeper

Position Summary Perform daily cleaning tasks for resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, offices, wellness areas, and other designated areas as assigned. Maintain community and regulatory standards for cleanliness and infection control. Key Responsibilities Ensure the CAPLICO Core Values and Code of Conduct are adhered to at all times. Maintain compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies. Perform basic cleaning functions following established schedules and protocols, including dusting horizontal surfaces, emptying wastebaskets, damp‑wiping surfaces, polishing fixtures, mopping and sanitizing floors, spot‑cleaning walls and windows, replenishing room supplies, and vacuuming carpets. Perform heavier cleaning tasks when assigned such as shampooing carpets, cleaning windows, wiping walls and light fixtures. Assist in cleaning emergency spills when requested. Follow all infection control measures and use Standard Precautions. Use only community‑approved cleaning products and follow product safety instructions. Store cleaning products and equipment in compliance with community policy, and report needed repairs to the housekeeping director or designated manager. Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by supervisor or executive director. Salary & Supervisory Responsibility Salary: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour. No supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment Work across all areas of the community with frequent movement and interruptions. May work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays, and may be called back during emergency conditions. Exposure to falls, burns, odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, airborne contaminants, and infectious waste, including TB, COVID‑19, AIDS, and Hepatitis viruses. May handle hazardous chemicals. Requirements Must read, write, speak, and understand English. Must meet all state and federal minimum age requirements. Must obtain a criminal history clearance and comply with all training requirements. Must be able to make independent decisions, follow instructions, handle constructive criticism, interact tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public, and maintain care of supplies and equipment. Physical & Sensory Requirements Must move intermittently throughout the workday and handle mental and emotional stress. Must have adequate sight, hearing, or appropriate prosthetics. Must lift up to 30 pounds, carry cleaning supplies, and occasionally push/pull up to 100 pounds. May assist in evacuation during emergencies.
