About the Role

The State of Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) seeks a senior technical leader to serve as a strategic advisor to the CISO and drive the statewide implementation of the Accelerated Exposure Reduction Plan.
The role blends high‑level advisory with hands‑on engineering, building internal capabilities while operationalizing the updated SI‑2 Flaw Remediation standard and transitioning to AI‑accelerated DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

Act as a direct technical advisor to the CISO, translating federal mandates and AI threat models into actionable directives.
Co‑engineer data pipelines and security automation with DET staff to institutionalize elite technical skills.
Deliver real‑time training and co‑develop automation playbooks within SecOps.
Architect automated tracking, logging, and validation mechanisms for SI‑2 tier compliance (Tier 1: 24 h, 7 days; Tier 2: 48 h, 15 days; Tier 3: 30 days).
Design clean deployment architectures using virtualized images, containers, and cloud‑native configurations.
Embed secure builds, automated testing, code scanning, and dependency updates into agency deployment pipelines.
Operationalize Gemini Government, Google Codemender, or equivalent generative AI tools for log parsing, threat hunting, and source‑code remediation.
Ensure AI‑assisted capabilities comply with state privacy, data classification, and logging safeguards.
Build low‑code workflows for SI‑2 exception lifecycle, exception routing, and executive escalation.
Configure automated alert thresholds and workflow routing for significant business risks.
Deliver production‑ready LLM and Frontier Cyber runbooks and prompt libraries.
Provide knowledge transfer, configuration documentation, and validation logs to sustain SI‑2 operational baseline.
