Part Time MRI Technologist - Outpatient NYU Imaging - East Meadow

Position Summary Part‑Time MRI Technologist – Outpatient, NYU Imaging – East Meadow. Under the direction of a Radiologist, operates MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images and performs procedures according to established standards, including patient identification, safety standards, and completion of required forms before discharging patients from the zone area. Job Responsibilities Accurately use the PACS to make images available to the radiologist with minimum exceptions. Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and complete exams in a timely fashion. Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies; report equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly. Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicum; collaborate with students to perform exams and evaluate images. Perform other duties as assigned. Operate MRI equipment to capture diagnostic images of specific body areas as ordered. Prepare, position, or immobilize patients appropriately and provide clear instructions before exam. Ensure image quality meets departmental SOP guidelines. Practice safety protocols for patient and employee safety in the magnetic field area. Minimum Qualifications Technical Diploma graduate from an AMA‑approved School of Radiology or Imaging Services. New York State Radiologic Technologist license or temporary permit. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification. Strong written and oral communication, problem‑solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a radiology program or related health field. 1–2 years MRI technologist or training experience. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
