Data Visualization Specialist

Data Visualization Specialist | Location: Off-Site | Contract | Hourly Pay Range $41-$79

Join a fast-paced Agile team as a Data Visualization Specialist, turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that support better business decisions. In this role, you'll build impactful dashboards and reports, partner closely with business and technical stakeholders, and help strengthen data quality across multiple sources and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate metrics, reports, dashboards, and data visualizations primarily using Tableau
• Build intuitive dashboards that clearly communicate trends, insights, and business performance
• Develop visual analytics using additional BI platforms such as Power BI, QuickSight, Looker, or similar tools
• Analyze, extract, cleanse, and combine data from multiple sources and systems to support reporting and visualization needs
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements and deliver end-to-end data visualization solutions
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and evaluate new technologies
• Improve data quality by developing monitoring tools, identifying issues, and creating alerts
• Contribute to web/UI development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Lead dashboard demonstrations and create training materials and documentation
• Promote consistent processes and procedures across the organization
• Stay current on emerging data visualization technologies and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Tableau and/or other BI tools such as Power BI or QuickSight
• Experience building dashboards and visualizations that communicate data clearly and tell a cohesive story
• Experience extracting, cleansing, combining, and working with data from multiple sources
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for UI/web development
• Strong understanding of data visualization and information design principles
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a self-starter mindset
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
• Portfolio demonstrating previous data visualization, dashboard, or analytics projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with additional BI and visualization platforms such as QuickSight, Looker, or similar tools
