Position Overview Session: Fall (September - December) Position Title: Intern - Mental Health (JPA) Hiring Manager: Kendall Hill Agency: Department of Corrections - Behavioral Health Location: Sioux Falls, SD Minimum Salary: $25.47 per hour Applicant Requirements Must be a current part-time or full-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) in the upcoming semester or the immediately preceding semester. Position Description The purpose of the mental health intern is to provide mental health services in the adult correctional facilities operated by the Department of Corrections. Duties include assessment of offender's behavioral health needs, providing groups, individual sessions, treatment plans, and documentation. Qualifications Applicant must be pursuing a master’s degree from an accredited institution in one of the following mental health fields: counseling, social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy. All students are encouraged to apply; preference may be given to applicants with a standing of Junior/Senior year, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions. Additional Information Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.
