This is a very part-time position doing oversight and signing off on providers' notes.

What You'll Do

• Follow all Avenues' established medical care protocols, working closely with medical team.
• Oversee medical monitoring and medication management for duration of clients' stay in treatment.
• See patients on sporadic basis to address concerns raised by medical team.
• Perform any medical interventions as necessary.
• Address any urgent medical needs so as to enable clients to prioritize recovery.
• Communicate and collaborate with extended treatment team to ensure seamless coordination of care.
• Accurately and comprehensively document all medical care and interventions in KIPU EMR.
• Adhere to all treatment timelines and maintain an efficient appointment schedule.

What We're Looking For

• Virginia State Board of Medicine licensed physician
• DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
• Specialization in addiction medicine preferred
• Adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards
• Knowledge of and compliance with Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs regulations
• Collaborative work with other healthcare professionals
• Continuous professional development through CME
• Experience in SUD treatment settings desired
