Member Services Representative

Job Details Location: 14th St - New York, NY 10003 Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $17.70 per hour Benefits Free Black Card gym membership Day, evening, or overnight shifts Career growth opportunities Discounts on merchandise sold at the club Benefits: medical, 401k, supplemental insurance Discounts on movie tickets, theme parks, hotels, attractions, and more Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet members, prospective members, and guests, providing exceptional customer service. Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and elevate to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed. Handle all front desk related activities: Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions. Check members into the system. Assist with new member sign‑up. Take prospective members on tours. Facilitate needed updates to members’ accounts. Assist in maintaining the neatness and cleanliness of the club, including: Cleaning and sanitizing exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities. Ensuring restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked, and clutter free following the routine cleaning schedule. Performing a comprehensive walk of all club areas to fix safety or policy issues and address cleanliness concerns. Qualifications Customer service background preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older. Basic computer proficiency. A passion for fitness and health. Upbeat and positive attitude. Punctuality and reliability. Exceptional customer service skills with ability to interact positively and professionally with members and co‑workers, exceeding member expectations. Strong listening, empathy, and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions with appropriate behavior and language. High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
