RN – Med-Surg Unit (Adult / Orthopedics) – Day Shift – Relocation Candidates Welcome

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical-Surgical team at a rural Critical Access Hospital in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have strong adult Med-Surg and orthopedic nursing experience and be committed to providing safe, high-quality patient care in a rural healthcare setting.

Candidates must be comfortable working 12-hour day shifts, including weekends and holidays, and collaborating with the healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical and orthopedic patients.
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes in clinical status.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
• Assist with preoperative and postoperative orthopedic patient care as required.
• Monitor recovery, mobility, pain management, and potential complications.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using EPIC EMR.
• Follow infection control procedures and maintain patient safety standards.
• Participate in weekend and holiday scheduling as assigned.

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience .
• Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Adult Medical-Surgical and/or orthopedic nursing experience.
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.
• Availability to work 2 out of every 3 weekends .
• Willingness to work holidays as required.
• Ability to work effectively in a rural Critical Access Hospital setting.
