Position Title Maintenance Manager Location Carol Stream, IL Employment Type Full‑time Summary The Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance team for long‑term growth, collaborates with Engineering, and reports to the Director of Maintenance & Engineering. Key Responsibilities Lead, develop and assess the maintenance team. Coordinate contractor visits, project installations and production requests with Engineering and the Facility Director. Report on equipment contracts, maintenance KPIs, cost‑saving initiatives and safety topics. Direct preventive maintenance (PM) and production request assignments. Manage equipment and utility contracts at the Carol Stream campus. Coordinate cost‑saving and production safety & efficiency opportunities with Engineering, Facilities, and Continuous Improvement teams. Oversee training and growth of the maintenance team. Ensure regulatory compliance in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and drive zero‑incident culture. Train employees on safe practices and lead safety or environmental programs. Maintain quality standards, complying with FDA, Organic, Kosher, Halal, BRC regulations, and support third‑party audits. Manage preventive maintenance program using CMMS and maintain records. Develop and monitor KPIs, using Lean/TPM/6‑Sigma tools for continuous improvement. Support capital project execution. Provide leadership, conduct performance reviews, and maintain a positive work environment. Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff; handle discipline and terminations per policy. Report weekly or regularly to management. Supervisory Responsibilities Oversee daily workflow for the maintenance team. Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff. Provide constructive performance evaluations. Handle discipline and termination of employees. Regular reporting to management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred) or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with demonstrated increased responsibilities, including knowledge of industrial systems (electrical power, controls, boilers, compressors, HVAC, plumbing, welding). Strong organizational, time‑management, analytical, problem‑solving and prioritization skills. Ability to function in a high‑pace, stressful environment. Effective communication with multiple departments. Work Conditions & Physical Requirements Lift up to 55 lbs. Frequent rounds in warehouse environment. View computer screen and type for extended hours. Sit & stand for extended periods. Stand for extended periods; moderate standing, squatting, bending, twisting. Wear required PPE (scrubs, hair net, lab coat, facemask). Work in packaging area with moderate powder; respirator optional. Work above shoulders; fine wrist movement. Work around various smells and aromas. Adjust work schedule as business needs require. Quality & Safety Responsibilities All employees must ensure compliance with food safety, food defense, and quality standards (FDA, ILDPH, FSMA, BRC). Must comply with OSHA safety and health standards and company procedures. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary $90,000–$110,000 annually (based on experience, education, location, shift).
