Clinical Assistant

Position Type: Part-Time

This is an entry level position. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of high school education, or equivalent, is required.
• Prior experience (1+ years) in a healthcare or clinical environment is preferable.

Primary Duties

Patient Interaction & Support

• Introduce new patients to office protocols and procedures.
• Accurately document patient data and perform consistent measurements.
• Uphold sterile practices and infection control standards.
• Manage patient flow by determining testing order and escorting individuals from the waiting area.
• Provide clear guidance on next steps and ensure patient comfort during wait times.
• Perform preliminary testing on patients.
• Adjust testing sequences as needed to maintain efficient operations.
• Assist with contact lens operations.

Equipment Oversight

• Identify and resolve minor equipment issues.
• Inspect device connections and functionality.
• Promptly report technical problems to the Lead Ophthalmic Technician.

Operational Support

• Seek assistance from senior team members when tasks exceed current skill level.
• Keep exam and procedure rooms clean and well-stocked.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support clinic operations.

This position operates in a professional office environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
