Paralegal / Case Manager
A growing litigation-focused law firm is seeking a Paralegal / Case Manager with litigation experience. This position is responsible for providing high-level litigation support and client management. It requires excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.
The primary duties of this position include managing a high-volume docket with precision and excellence, maintaining complex calendars, and organizing and maintaining electronic and paper case files, attorney notebooks, databases, and spreadsheets.
In addition, a key responsibility of this position is assisting attorneys with cases, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and correspondence. The ideal candidate will perform traditional paralegal tasks while also handling general administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case preparation from inception through trial and post-trial proceedings.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- File legal documents with state and federal courts via electronic filing systems.
- Maintain and organize case files, both electronic and paper.
- Manage and track litigation calendars, deadlines, court dates, docketing, and appointments.
- Coordinate service of process, depositions, subpoenas, and expert witness communications.
- Conduct basic legal and factual research using tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or online databases.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit binders, witness lists, and trial notebooks.
- Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Provide occasional backup support when other staff members are out of the office.
Qualifications
- Minimum 35 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a litigation-focused role.
- Working knowledge of litigation processes and court procedures in state and federal jurisdictions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice/document management software.

- Ability to draft, proofread, edit, and finalize pleadings and correspondence.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, and writing skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively while adapting to changing priorities.
- Flexibility to support attorneys and client needs, including occasional overtime as required.
