Civil Litigation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Civil Litigation Attorney for its Bloomfield Hills, MI office. This role offers the chance to work with seasoned litigators on complex employment and commercial litigation cases in a dynamic environment. The position provides hands‑on experience, client interaction, and mentorship while representing professionals, businesses, and insurers. Duties Handle all phases of commercial and labor & employment litigation from inception to resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents. Conduct legal research and assist with litigation strategy and case analysis. Manage discovery and prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation. Communicate with clients, insurers, opposing counsel, and witnesses, providing case updates and strategic guidance. Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex litigation matters. Provide proactive case management and client reporting. Requirements Admission to practice in Michigan required. 3 to 5 years of commercial litigation and/or labor & employment litigation experience. Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced litigation environment. Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Experience Insurance defense litigation. Experience with depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances. Experience managing matters independently. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Michigan. Skills Excellent legal research and writing skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
