Controls EngineerLocation: Birmingham, AL (40% Travel)Salary: $75,000 - $125,000 DOEOverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to design, program, commission, and support industrial automation systems across manufacturing and industrial facilities. This role offers the opportunity to own projects from concept through startup while working directly with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and plant-floor equipment.ResponsibilitiesDesign, program, test, and commission PLC-based automation systemsTroubleshoot production equipment and control systems in manufacturing environmentsDevelop and modify PLC logic, HMIs, and SCADA applicationsPerform system startup, commissioning, and debugging at customer sitesIntegrate VFDs, motors, sensors, safety systems, vision systems, and industrial networksCreate and maintain electrical schematics and system documentationSupport upgrades and modernization of legacy control systemsCollaborate with engineers, technicians, electricians, and customer teamsRequired Qualifications5+ years of controls engineering, automation, or PLC programming experienceExperience programming Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and/or CompactLogix PLCsStrong troubleshooting experience in manufacturing or industrial environmentsAbility to independently design and commission automation systemsWillingness to travel up to 40%Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsSiemens PLC experienceHMI/SCADA experience (PanelView, WinCC, FactoryTalk, etc.)Experience with machine vision, safety PLCs, and industrial networkingBackground in automotive, manufacturing, material handling, or heavy industrial operationsExperience upgrading legacy automation systemsWhy Join Us?Own projects from design through startupDiverse automation and controls challengesHigh level of autonomy and technical responsibilityStrong team of experienced automation professionalsBenefitsHealth, Dental, Vision401K with MatchBonusPTO
