Senior Mechanical Engineer - Utilities & Environmental Systems

Senior Mechanical Engineer needed to provide technical leadership for pharmaceutical plant utility and environmental systems, including HVAC, chillers, steam systems, and controls. Role involves designing engineering solutions, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements at Pfizer's Andover, Massachusetts facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and optimization of plant utility systems including HVAC, chillers, steam, and environmental controls
• Perform engineering calculations for airflow, temperature, humidity, and utility loads; specify mechanical equipment and materials
• Develop engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, airflow diagrams, equipment layouts, and control sequences
• Manage multiple projects end-to-end, coordinating with stakeholders and providing field support through commissioning and startup
• Support operations through preventive maintenance improvement, equipment evaluations, root cause failure analysis, and regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years experience, or Master's with 2+ years, or PhD, or Associate's with 8+ years, or high school diploma with 10+ years
• Experience designing and maintaining HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, steam systems, and related utility infrastructure
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance program development and execution
• Proficiency with Enterprise Asset Management or CMMS applications
• Understanding of Process Safety Management elements and cGMP regulations
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills for engineering deliverables
• Project management and cross-functional team coordination experience preferred

Compensation: $99,200–$165,400 base annual salary, plus 12.5% bonus target and long-term incentive eligibility
