Mission Hospital Emergency Department

Unit Specifics:

• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically-medical, up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Unit staffing description-techs available work in cardiac monitoring unit and the internal processing area, triage, unit clerks days and nights
• Type of equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation system: Cerner
• Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend, can't commit to block scheduling, scheduling must meet the needs of the dept.
• Floating policy: No floating outside of the ED but must be open to floating to all sections in the ED
• Patient Experience requirements: AIDET, respectful behavior, patient experience to each patient, boards updated with info and pt updated throughout visit

Hospital Specifics:

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, ENPC within 90 days of hire

Hiring Profile:

• Requested Skill Set: 2 years' experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, high volume > 100,000 visit ED. Previous HCA experience preferred.
• Must have: 2 years' experience as a nurse with at least 1-year experience in ER setting, teamwork mentality, ability to coach and give feedback in real time. Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED.
