Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (CV Med Tele)

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Weekdays with every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a full telemetry floor with centralized monitoring, serving adult and geriatric populations across pulmonary, cardiac, and medical-surgical specialties (16 monitored beds)
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings, escalating concerns appropriately in collaboration with the care team
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5, delivering safe and effective nursing care within established protocols
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner electronic health records
• Adhere to facility infection control policies, including seasonal flu vaccine requirements (October 1 – March 31)

Required Qualifications

• Active West Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted at time of submission — must be clean (prior probationary actions reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac Telemetry / Telemetry experience required
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Every other weekend availability required
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a pulmonary, cardiovascular, or medical-surgical telemetry setting
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations
