About You As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing care for our precious patients. Your life‑changing work will range from hands‑on care such as facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. A full‑time position requires working between 30–40 hours a week, including a combination of day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Experience & Skills Requirements Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a neurology veterinary technician CVT/LVT/RVT (preferred) Availability for on‑call rotation (required) Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on client care Experience in anesthesia and surgical assisting and post‑operative care Experience running diagnostic imaging (MRI/CT/Radiology) Excellent problem‑solving abilities (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution) Ethically minded, diplomatic, courteous, professional Proficiency in assisting with CSF sample collection Strong attention to detail Able to observe the behavior and condition of animals Provide superior nursing care or emergency first aid to recovering or injured animals Comfortable with anesthetic patient monitoring of ASA I–III (preferred experience with ASA I–V) Familiarity with the use of ventilators (preferred) Familiar with common neurologic disease, neurologic surgery, and post‑operative care Able to obtain blood pressure, interpret basic ECG, SpO₂, and ECTO₂ and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care Collect laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, or tissue, for testing Perform laboratory tests, such as urinalyses and blood counts Comfortable utilizing digital radiography machines to acquire images using proper technique and positioning Comfortable utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow across all hospital functions. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians and assistants. Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments. Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems. Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
