Registered Nurse

This position is eligible for a $3,000 recruitment bonus. Note: Current state employees are not eligible for recruitment payments upon transfer, demotion, or promotion to another agency - Registered Nurse duties in a correctional facility performs professional nursing role similar to outpatient services in the community.
- Registered nurses participate in the management of the nursing care of patients within a health care environment; provide clinical leadership and assist practitioners; plans and conducts educational sessions, including teaching that requires a registered nursing license; administers medication, triage patient complaints and coordinates the care of residents in a correctional environment with multi-disciplinary team which includes physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, optometrists & dentists E-Verify and Right to Work
The State of Iowa participates in E-Verify, a federal program that helps employers confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees. Within the required timeframe, new hires will be verified through the E-Verify system to ensure authorization to work in the United States. The State of Iowa also complies with the federal Right to Work laws, which protect employees rights to work without being required to join a labor organization.
