Berman Skin Institute (BSI) is a group of dermatology and cosmetic surgery centers with ten medical practice locations across Northern California (including Los Altos, Fremont, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, Placerville, Cameron Park, Roseville, Tracy and Yuba City, and a business office in Santa Clara).

Founded in 1993 by Dr. David Berman, a board-certified dermatologist, BSI's mission is to blend state-of-the-art medical technology and research with a dedication to patient welfare and healing to provide patients with the best possible dermatologic care. As one of the largest skin laser centers in the world, BSI has several dozen lasers, and many other non-laser devices for skin and hair conditions. Additionally, Dr. Berman was the first physician in the world to perform hair transplants using the ARTAS™ robotic hair transplant system, and remains the principal researcher for the manufacturer, Restoration Robotics.

With a diverse patient population, BSI has a set of broad and comprehensive service offerings, including medical and surgical dermatology (including treatment for acne, moles, allergic skin reactions, autoimmune diseases, skin infections and more); cosmetic dermatology (including laser wrinkle treatment, laser hair removal, laser tattoo removal, laser brown spot removal, laser removal of varicose veins and more); skin care products and medi-spa/esthetician treatments (including chemical peels, microdermabrasion, facials, extractions for acne and more).

BSI is looking for energetic Medical Assistants to join our growing dermatology and cosmetic surgery practices. Excellent patient care is our number one priority with a team approach to service. The right candidate is polished, friendly, professional, motivated, a team player, emotionally and professionally mature, has initiative to problem solve and empowered to address issues as they arise. BSI has an opportunity in our Placerville and Cameron Park, CA locations. Must be able to work at both locations and flexibility to work on a Saturday occasionally.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Rooming patients and documenting medical histories
• Assisting physicians with clinical and surgical procedures including but not limited to; skin biopsies, excisions, scrapings, sclerotherapy, Botox, fillers, laser procedures, etc.
• Maintain accurate inventory of medical supplies
• Prepare and document specimens for pathology
• Assist from desk in answering phones and scheduling appointments
• Prepare and clean exam rooms and medical equipment in between each patient and at the end of the day
• Suture removals
• Assist patients with both pre and postoperative instructions and protocols Enter notes and information into EMR system during and after patient visits
• Help patients feel comfortable... make them happy!

Requirements include but are not limited to:

• Two (2) years' experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant in both front and back office.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Love what we do! You think Dermatology is very, very cool. Perhaps you have a drawer full of skin care products at home????
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
• Have a sense of humor. This is essential. Everyone should laugh a little bit everyday.
• Have life set up so you can come to work every day reliably and on time. Don't worry, you get paid time off too to play and vacation but when scheduled, we need to know you are going to be there,
• Keyboarding skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software are required as is experience with other types of standard office equipment.
• Communicate effectively in the English language in person, on the phone & in writing.
