RN Nurse Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide overall direction and supervision of patient care and nursing personnel on the unit. Consult with staff, physicians, and the Program Director regarding nursing practices and hospital policies. Ensure nursing staff compliance with clinical policies and procedures. Participate in incident investigations and the preparation of related reports. Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs. Implement and uphold Standards of Nursing Practice across all functions. Serve as the administrative representative in the absence of the Program Director. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program; BSN preferred. Experience: Minimum two years of rehab nursing experience and two years of supervisory experience preferred. License: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS preferred; CRRN preferred. Salary range: $120-135k. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs. Critical thinking. Work well under pressure while keeping calm and maintaining customer focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Work in well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts. In hospital environment, may be exposed to hazards and unusual elements (bloodborne pathogens and/or contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials) requiring extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment. Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment. Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
