Job Title Healthcare Technician 2 Reports To Project Manager Employment Type Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Primary Role Responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems with experience in VOIP, SIP, computer, and networking systems. The Systems Technician installs and services systems efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize performance, and communicates system performance to the customer. Responsibilities Responsible for the final hookup and programming of electronics equipment for new jobs Respond promptly to customer service‑related issues Test and document readings for customer systems Update customer files Troubleshoot and repair electronic components Handle on‑call duties on a regular scheduled basis Train and instruct customers on proper use of equipment Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints Operate test equipment such as Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, and Impedance Meter Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment Track accurately on time sheets, service/installation tickets, and inventory items Ensure full compliance with company and customer safety programs Perform other duties as required or assigned by company management Accountability The Healthcare Technician 2 is accountable to the Project Manager. Secondary accountability is to other management team members, employees, and customers of the company. Qualifications A two‑year electronics degree or an equivalent combination of education and three or more years of related field experience is desirable. Candidates should have extensive experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting equipment/systems, high knowledge of equipment, systems, and procedures, and experience with VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications. Cisco and Microsoft certifications are desirable. Candidates must be able to install a project from engineering documents with minimal assistance and manage small projects with little supervision. Education Requirements Minimum: High school graduate; Basic English reading, writing, and arithmetic proficiency; ability to read CAD‑generated prints, building blueprints, and riser diagrams; solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory – formal instruction is preferred; PC proficiency and aptitude in simple engineering and construction. Preferred: Associate degree in Electronics, IT, or Computer Programming; NSCA CEST certification, NICET certification; RCDD and factory training a plus. Travel Some out‑of‑town travel may be required. Additional Skills and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Responsible, self‑motivated, self‑starter, personable, and well‑organized. Superior customer service skills for internal and external customers. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups. Proficiency with personal computers, including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Achieve proficiency/certifications of SWC products. Ability to plan, organize, and implement skills that allow successful project completion by a specified deadline. Effective handling of stressful situations. Ability to read and interpret general business documentation. Valid and current driver’s license. Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements Stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers. Lift light objects up to 50 lbs. Perform reaching, grasping, and carrying activities.
