Job Title: RN - Endoscopy Profession: RN Specialty: Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current acute care Endoscopy experience License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Description: Travel RN position in Endoscopy. Director is willing to consider the following shift times: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM. The endoscopy unit has 2 beds and a staff of 9. The staff consists of RNs and GI Techs. Day shift has 2 RNs and a unit manager, while night shift is on call only, featuring either 2 RNs or 1 RN and 1 GI Tech. Patient ratios are estimated at 1:1 or 1:2, but never guaranteed. The unit uses Olympus scopes and Meditech/CPN for electronic medical records. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current acute care Endo experience. BLS certification is required, while ACLS certification is preferred. Experience in preop/recovery and intraop procedures is a plus. Typical procedures performed in the unit include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and bronchoscopy. The ideal candidate should possess a flexible and positive attitude towards patient care. This small GI department has strong working relationships among staff and GI doctors. Most of the staff members are highly knowledgeable with extensive experience. The department averages about 10 cases a week and is primarily staffed for emergencies and OR support.
