Outside Sales Representative | Portland, OR Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. (In New Century, KS, Lebanon, TN, and Rockford, IL – we do business as: Olathe Millwork, Warren Brothers, River City Millwork respectfully.) Position: We are growing! We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative , responsible for growing business and selling our product line in a specific territory. In charge of sales throughout the territory, you will be rewarded based on your ability to manage sales throughout the region and customer base. Grow sales by increasing our customer base to new customers - as an Outside Sales Representative you will be expected to call on potential new customers throughout the territory. Communicate the needs of the customer with the branch to better ensure optimized product mix and increase future sales. Communicate with inside sales staff to ensure a coordinated and synchronized sales effort. Our Outside Sales Representatives lead the conversation and develop our business through sales growth and customer service. Accompany vendors’ sales representatives as needed, calling on appropriate customer accounts to satisfy vendor concerns. Should You Apply? You have a minimum of 6-10 years sales experience, ideally in an outside sales or territory sales representative role, and ideally in the construction sales industry or building materials industry. You have knowledge of millwork and understand 2-step distribution. You can travel as needed throughout the territory. You have excellent customer service skills, with knowledge of DMSi Agility software a plus.
