Temporary Holiday Box Office Representative

The Temporary Holiday Box Office Representative will support Dallas Theater Center’s Box Office during the busy holiday season, helping deliver an elevated patron experience and support ticket sales and customer service, with a focus on \"A Christmas Carol\". Working closely with the Box Office Coordinator and Senior Box Office Representatives, this temporary position will assist patrons with ticket purchases, exchanges, performance information, and general ticketing questions while helping resolve patron issues in a timely and professional manner. Training will begin as soon as possible, and the position will continue through the final performance of \"A Christmas Carol\" on December 27, 2026. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide friendly, professional customer service to patrons by phone, email, and other Box Office communication channels. Process ticket purchases, exchanges, and other transactions accurately using DTC’s ticketing system. Answer questions about performance dates and times, seating options, ticket pricing, discounts, and promotions. Assist patrons with ticket delivery, mobile ticketing, and account-related questions. Resolve patron concerns in a timely manner and elevate issues to the appropriate team member when needed. Support ticket sales and patron communications for \"A Christmas Carol\" and other productions as assigned. Maintain accurate patron records and follow established procedures for payments, exchanges, refunds, and customer information. Collaborate with Box Office and other DTC staff to ensure a smooth and welcoming patron experience. Perform other related duties as assigned. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable using computers and learning new software systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work collaboratively with patrons, colleagues, and other DTC departments in a fast-paced environment. Ability to learn and accurately use ticketing, payment, and patron account systems. Ability to maintain professionalism and composure when addressing patron concerns. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or Box Office experience preferred but not required. Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Experience with ticketing systems, Tessitura, or other customer relationship management systems is helpful but not required. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and applicable holiday shifts. PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods while working at a Box Office workstation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing patron and performance needs. Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and nontraditional hours as required by the performance schedule.
