Project Engineer - Transportation

Project EngineerWestwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our transportation service team in Las Vegas, Nevada. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of diverse roadway design experience. Candidates must have a willingness to perform a variety of tasks supporting various project types, project sizes, and project managers.Requirements:Work with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimatesPrepare supporting design calculations and detailed construction drawings using Civil 3DProduce high-quality work and implement and maintain quality assurance proceduresOversee the technical aspects of various tasks or projectsCoordinate with other disciplines, support services and subconsultantsCoordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agenciesIdentify applicable codes, standards or other design requirementsPrepare technical specifications and cost estimatesPerform field reviews and other assessments for use in designParticipate in contract bidding, provide limited observation during construction, review submittals and RFIsDevelop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery for assigned tasksMake decisions independently regarding various issues and methodsPrioritize and manage own workloadMentor, train and/or supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnelLead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalismRequired Skills:Outgoing, friendly, approachableExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsStrong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlinesDetail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficient in Autodesk Civil3D and Microsoft Office applicationsProficient in the use of national design standards (MUTCD, AASHTO, etc.)Proficient in applying ADA/PROWAG criteria in public infrastructure designCompetent technical skills required to complete engineering tasksAbility to delegate assignments and determine methods and proceduresQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Civil EngineeringLicensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Nevada (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in roadway designAbout Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
