Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Care Unit (Telemetry) | Night Shift

Overland Park, KS | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | 3 shifts per week, every 3rd weekend required | 48 hours guaranteed preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed Cardiovascular Care Unit serving acute cardiac patients, including cath lab patients (ablations, PFO closures, stents, pacers) as well as stroke patients and PCU overflow
• Maintain patient ratios of 4–5:1 while upholding high standards for documentation compliance and safety processes related to central lines, foleys, C. diff, and other HAIs
• Perform basic med-tele procedures and operate unit equipment including EKG, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, sit-to-stand, Hoyer lift, and hover mat
• Document accurately using Meditech EBCD electronic documentation system
• Participate in Nurse Leader Rounds, including pre- and post-rounds, and actively support patient experience initiatives focused on nurse communication, courtesy, and respect
• Float to like units as needed (Ortho/Neuro/CCU/CDU/SSU/Obs/Rehab)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Basic Dysrhythmia certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior cardiac or cardiovascular care unit experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with cath lab patient care (ablations, stents, pacers, PFO closures)
• Experience with Meditech EBCD documentation system
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality
