Position Overview

Aspire Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house therapy team.

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides skilled therapy services to residents experiencing communication, cognitive, and swallowing impairments. This position evaluates resident needs, develops individualized treatment plans, and works closely with the interdisciplinary team to improve functional outcomes, independence, safety, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.

• Develop and implement individualized, resident-centered treatment plans.

• Provide skilled therapy for speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.

• Assess and treat dysphagia while promoting safe swallowing and reducing aspiration risk.

• Recommend appropriate swallowing strategies, dietary modifications, and assistive communication techniques.

• Educate residents, families, and staff on communication, swallowing, and safety strategies.

• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, dietary, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members.

• Participate in care planning, resident conferences, and discharge planning.

• Maintain accurate and timely evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries.

• Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.

• Maintain compliance with applicable professional, regulatory, and facility standards.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

• Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of Missouri.

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.

• 1–3 years of clinical experience preferred; skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric experience is a plus.

• Knowledge of dysphagia management, swallowing disorders, and cognitive-communication therapy.

• Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care and interdisciplinary teamwork.
