Social Work Intern – Unpaid The staff and faculty of Northampton Community College share a single goal: to help students transform their lives through education. The Spartan Cares social work intern provides information, referral, and case management for students facing non‑academic challenges that impact academic performance. Applicants who meet the initial review will be placed in a pool for future consideration as positions become available. If selected, the hiring manager will contact the candidate. Responsibilities Identify non‑academic needs of students and refer them to college and community resources. Monitor students’ academic and non‑academic progress. Conduct Basic Needs Assessments. Compile and maintain current information on available college and community resources. Maintain data entry and case‑management notes for continuity of service and support grant requests. Communicate and collaborate with college staff. Meet the core competencies and responsibilities as directed by NASW and the Code of Ethics. Qualifications Enrolled in a Council on Social Work Education accredited BSW or MSW program in good standing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Understanding of ecological systems and experience working with diverse populations. Ability to advocate for others. Willingness to work collaboratively with others.
