Senior Pricing Actuary

Zurich North America is looking for a Senior Actuarial Consultant to support Accident & Health (A&H) business. This role would be based out of Zurich’s New York, Schaumburg, Chicago or Overland Park office.This critical Actuarial role leads the pricing of new and renewal business as well as the development of effective premium/rating structure and strategies in support of business objectives including new products and product enhancements of A&H products such as Supplemental Health (Gap Medical, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness) as well as Individual, Group, Blanket Accident products.The Senior Actuarial Consultant is also responsible for the following:Leads rate filing development of new products and product enhancementsCoordinates, prepares, and performs actuarial analysisAnalyzes loss and expense reservesProvides consultation on actuarial models and risk issuesSupports A&H Market Facing and Technical Underwriters on A&H pricing decisionsCoaches others to employ teamwork and collaborationFosters collaboration and cross-functional interactionInfluences business decisions through effective communicationLeads actuarial discussions with business partners around profitabilityAligns customer service needs to business prioritiesPromotes customer/client-focused cultureSets an example for exemplary customer serviceMay oversee the work of less experienced actuariesSenior Actuarial Consultant Basic Qualifications:Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates DegreeORBachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial areaFCAS/FSA or equivalent international certificationORBachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial areaACAS/ASA or equivalent international certification.Preferred Qualifications:FCAS/FSAPrevious experience on product development, pricing, filing and experience monitoring of Accident & Health businessTeam Leadership experience and desire to leadAbility to effectively communicate and partner with the businessStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to explain technical analysis results to non-technical audiencesCollaboration experience on cross-functional team projectsExperience with Microsoft Excel and/or knowledge of statistical analysis software and dashboard developmentImagine working for a company that truly cares about their employees, customers, stakeholders, and communities they serve.Imagine working for a values-driven organization that has the ambition and desire to be the best global insurance provider in the world.Zurich is that place where 55,000 employees across approximately 200 countries and territories are all focused on helping people and helping companies protect what is truly most important to them. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases.
