MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc
Ignite Voices and Connections in the Heart of Iowa – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
What if your next journey could transform lives through the power of communication? As a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in one of Iowa's most hospitable cities, your expertise will go far beyond managing communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you will have the chance to unlock potential, instill confidence, and foster connections among individuals ranging from inquisitive toddlers to resilient seniors striving for independence.
This position offers a remarkable opportunity to make an impact across all age groups in a dynamic setting that artfully merges outpatient therapy and the occasional inpatient support. Whether you're drawn to pediatric language milestones, addressing neurogenic communication disorders in adults, or guiding geriatric clientele through cognitive-linguistic challenges, your passion and expertise will thrive here.
Description
- Conduct evaluations for patients belonging to pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics by employing standardized assessments and thorough observational techniques.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Facilitate targeted speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to devise cohesive care strategies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families to enhance progress outside of the clinical environment.
- Occasionally contribute to inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a consistent care journey.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational requirement standards.
- Commit to continuous professional development through ongoing education and collaborative peer engagement.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a credentialed institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.
Skills
- Expert in evidence-based treatment strategies suitable for all ages, with a comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapy modalities to address varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Solid clinical judgment coupled with adept problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation mandates.
Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- Flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance along with diverse caseloads.
- Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neurology rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
- Support for continuing education and professional advancement.
- A collaborative team atmosphere dedicated to quality care and lifelong learning.
Embrace a Career That Resonates with Your Values
In this role, you will not only deliver expert speech therapy but also become an integral part of a compassionate mission to revitalize voices, enhance communication, and create joyous moments through some of the simplest yet profound human experiences: listening and being truly heard.
You'll join forces with fellow clinicians who uphold a collaborative spirit, in a platform that emphasizes team cohesion over rivalry. Each patient has a unique story; we'll count on you to influence the narrative of how it unfolds.
