Amerine Utilities Construction is looking for an experienced CDL Class A Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment, materials, and trailers between underground utility construction jobsites.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, and experienced with hauling construction equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Transport heavy construction and underground utility equipment between jobsites
• Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment safely
• Haul equipment including excavators, dozers, skid steers, trenchers, and other construction machinery
• Operate a variety of truck and trailer combinations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Properly secure loads in accordance with DOT requirements
• Maintain required logs, inspections, and transportation documentation
• Coordinate with field crews and supervisors for equipment moves
• Assist with equipment and jobsite needs as required
• Maintain company trucks and trailers in clean, safe operating condition

Requirements:

• Valid Class A CDL
• Previous heavy equipment hauling experience required
• Experience pulling and operating multiple trailer types
• Experience loading and unloading heavy construction equipment
• Knowledge of proper load securement, weight distribution, and DOT regulations
• Ability to safely maneuver trucks and trailers in construction jobsites and tight areas
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Dependable attendance and ability to work independently
• Willingness to travel to jobsites as needed

Preferred Experience:

• Underground utility or heavy construction experience
• Lowboy and heavy-haul experience
• Experience operating construction equipment
• Oversize/overweight load experience
• Knowledge of permitting and load requirements

We need an experienced driver who understands that hauling construction equipment involves more than getting from Point A to Point B. The right candidate will know how to safely load, secure, transport, and unload expensive heavy equipment while working around active construction crews and changing jobsite conditions.
