This role manages a complex book of business by growing existing accounts, winning new business, and meeting revenue, margin, volume, and strategic growth goals. The individual negotiates customer agreements, creates meaningful customer value, and works cross-functionally to deliver mutual success. The targeted result is multi-level, mutually profitable, long-term customer relationships that consistently support company growth.

Essential Functions

• Develop and manage strategic account plans, budgets, volume, revenue, and margin objectives, ensuring targets are met while actively advancing sales initiatives and customer growth priorities. Customer portfolio could include brokers, retailers, manufacturers and others.
• Develop existing accounts while actively identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities that support long-term profitable growth.
• Negotiate customer deals, pricing, volume commitments, and supporting contracts in a manner that balances customer value with company revenue, margin, and risk objectives.
• Identify and deliver new value opportunities for customers, including solutions that improve customer outcomes, strengthen relationships, and create differentiation for the company.
• Build market intelligence by analyzing market conditions, supply and demand trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
• Serve as a collaborator and resource to teammates and the broader organization by sharing customer insights, supporting team priorities, and helping solve cross-functional business challenges.
• Monitor industry, crop, and market conditions to anticipate issues and opportunities that may affect the business.
• Develop and manage account plans for priority customers by effectively communicating with and leading cross-functional partners. Communicate clearly and professionally with senior leaders regarding account plans, business performance, customer opportunities, risks, and recommended actions.
• Lead team-based selling efforts that strengthen customer relationships and build multiple points of contact across both organizations.
• Remain accountable for business results, including revenue, margin, volume, account development, customer satisfaction, and effective execution of commercial priorities.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Follow all company safety rules in performing job duties.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with preference in a technical discipline (Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology) otherwise in Business, Sales or Marketing. MBA is a bonus but not required.
• 5+ years of direct sales experience with focus in the food and beverage industry.
• Proven track record managing and penetrating accounts and delivering results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Prior marketing experience in food manufacturing is helpful but not required.
• Experience in processed tomatoes or similar products is a strong plus.
• Team player with a positive attitude, strong willingness to learn, and the judgment to take measured risks in support of business growth.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time for customer visits and conferences, including potential international travel.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally (e.g., paperwork, light files….)
