Bringing together Sheltering Arms' trusted brand and clinical reputation with VCU Health's nationally ranked programs and research, the Institute delivers an innovative, transdisciplinary model of rehabilitative care grounded in advanced technology, research, and evidence-based treatment.Ranked among the nation's best rehabilitation hospitals—and the top rehabilitation provider in Virginia—by U.S. News & World Report and recognized as a Top Workplace nationally by USA Today and in Central Virginia by Richmond Times-Dispatch, our culture empowers team members to grow, innovate, and contribute to a shared mission: delivering superior outcomes and redefining what's possible in rehabilitation.At Sheltering Arms Institute, you'll join a collaborative, patient-centered environment where your ideas, expertise, and passion can make a meaningful difference.If you're driven to make an impact and help shape the future of rehabilitative care, we invite you to join us in reinventing rehabilitation for life beyond limits.We are currently seeking a talented Dietitian PRN to join our dynamic and growing team.Compensation$42.00 per hourThis rate reflects our commitment to pay equity and market?competitive compensation.Final compensation depends on experience, skills, and internal equity.BenefitsPRN team members are eligible to participate in the 403(b) retirement plan and discount programs.ResponsibilitiesThe dietitian assesses the nutritional status of every patient in a busy physical rehabilitation hospital, recognized as the number one rehabilitation hospital in Virginia, providing an opportunity to practice in a high-quality clinical environment focused on exceptional patient outcomes.Conducts individualized nutrition evaluations to identify nutrition-related risks.Develops, implements, and monitors evidence-based nutrition care plans based on physician orders, patient needs, current clinical knowledge, and professional judgment.Demonstrates a commitment to excellent customer service and compassionate, patient-centered care while upholding the hospital's reputation for clinical excellence.Provides nutrition education to patients, families, and staff to support recovery, functional improvement, and management of chronic conditions.Collaborates with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to integrate nutrition care into the overall treatment plan and effectively communicates nutrition-related recommendations.Serves as a liaison between the clinical team and food service operations to ensure therapeutic diets and nutrition interventions are implemented appropriately.Adheres to professional standards of practice, regulatory requirements, and facility policies.Works collaboratively with two other experienced full-time dietitians, contributing to a supportive and knowledgeable nutrition team environment.Performs other duties as assigned.This position offers a flexible schedule with opportunities for weekday and/or weekend coverage, making it an ideal role for a dietitian seeking flexibility while working in a dynamic clinical rehabilitation setting.Qualifications and SkillsAt least three years of experience and demonstrated knowledge and skills in clinical dietetics required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.One year specialty experience in the rehabilitation setting preferred.Education/CertificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college with a major in dietetics or acceptable prerequisite.Successful completion of an internship required.Certified Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
