General ManagerAlter Trading is looking for a General Manager who is a leader with direct auto shredder experience in metal recycling who has the ability to inspire and motivate their team.About Benefits For The General Manager Role:Competitive salary including the benefits listed below.Medical, dental & vision insurance offeredCompany paid disability insuranceHSA w/ company match401k w/ company matchPaid time off in the first yearRelocation assistance provided for this positionAbout The General Manager Job:Under the direction of the regional director of operations, responsible for all activities including planning, maintenance, staffing, training and operation associated with the safe and efficient functioning of the Greely, CO facility.Oversees shredding, ferrous, non-ferrous and transportation departmentsSupervises employees including hiring, discipline, and terminations as necessaryInteracts with customers on a regular basisAbility to grade and price scrap; may issue payment to customers as neededMaintains excellent relationships with both commercial and peddler customersMaintains company safety and environmental objectives and standards; maintains ISO and OSHA compliance requirementsSupervises building and equipment maintenance and replacement needsManages cost and expenditures; takes action to meet or exceed budgeted targets for yard volume, net profit and ROIPrepares and monitors annual budgets and monthly operating reportsOperates yard equipment, performs light equipment maintenance etc.Performs other responsibilities as assigned or directed.About You, General Manager Requirements:Previous experience in shredder operations is preferred.5 years industry experience including supervisory experience.Associate or bachelor's degree in business, accounting, management or other related area, preferredMust have excellent open communication style to carry out ongoing dialogues in a way that creates trust and confidence within all levels of the company as well as with external vendors and customers.Ability to travel occasionally to other facilities or customers as needed.
