About the Position

Job Title: Surgical ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Surgical ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) Experience: 2 years current strong Surgical ICU experience License: RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS (preferred), Critical Care Certification (preferred), trauma course (preferred) Must-Have: - RN license - BLS - 2 years current strong Surgical ICU experience Description: The Surgical ICU cares for patients requiring complex post-surgical management. This unit treats a diverse patient population, including those recovering from trauma, GI surgery, orthopedic/neurosurgery, transplant, vascular surgeries, surgical ENT, and general surgery. Critical thinking skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations are essential. Candidates should be prepared to float as needed to areas with similar skill sets. Strong communication and teamwork skills are vital in this environment. Experience with EPIC is preferred. The unit has a capacity of 20 beds and supports both adult surgical patients and those with critical injuries.
