Accounting Internship

Support financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities for our consulting operations. Who We're Looking For We're seeking detail-oriented students with a passion for financial accuracy and business operations. What You'll Do As an Accounting Intern, you will support our finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance: Assist with monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation Support budget vs. actual analysis and variance reporting Help prepare management reports and financial dashboards Accounts Payable & Receivable Process client invoices and manage billing cycles Assist with vendor payment processing and expense management Support collections activities and client account reconciliation Compliance & Audit Support Assist with tax preparation and regulatory compliance Support internal and external audit processes Help maintain documentation and internal controls Financial Operations Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements Assist with cash flow management and bank reconciliations Help with project cost tracking and profitability analysis What's Required We're looking for candidates who: Education & Background Are pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills Demonstrate integrity and ethical standards Show interest in corporate finance and accounting practices Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Strong numerical and analytical skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience with QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems Coursework in intermediate accounting, taxation, or auditing Previous internship or work experience in accounting or finance Interest in pursuing CPA certification Our Accounting Internship provides comprehensive exposure to corporate accounting in a consulting environment: Professional Skills Development Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling techniques Experience with professional accounting software and ERP systems Understanding of consulting industry financial operations Exposure to client billing and project accounting Industry Knowledge Financial reporting requirements for consulting firms Revenue recognition principles for service-based businesses Tax considerations for multi-state operations Internal controls and compliance best practices Who We Are Gateway is a leading data science and machine learning consulting company with a strong focus on financial excellence and operational efficiency.
