• Responsible for knowing, utilizing and reviewing the 12-Core Functions as required by TDSHS.
• Thorough knowledge of the Therapeutic Community concept and all of its elements.
• Ability to work well and as a team with the treatment team which consists of the counselor, the client, case manager, parole or probation officer, and family members.
• Responsible for documentation of client progress and for completing and providing all information required in the client chart in a timely manner.
• Responsible for knowing TDSHS compliance guidelines as they relate to counselor functions.
• Able to facilitate education groups, process groups and confrontation groups.
• Able to hold individual sessions with each client twice a month at a minimum.
• Other job duties as instructed by supervisor.
