Supervisor Clinical Nurse IV- Staffing Response Team Night Shift

Description The Supervisor Clinical Nurse IV – Central Staffing Office is a senior nursing leader responsible for coordinating and supervising centralized staffing operations to support safe, high‑quality patient care across UNC Health Rex. Responsibilities include: Support daily operations of the Central Staffing Office, including coordination and deployment of nursing and support staff to inpatient areas and Emergency Departments at both UNC Rex Raleigh and UNC Rex Holly Springs. Real‑time staffing adjustments based on census, acuity, and patient needs. Collaborate with unit leaders and house supervisors to ensure safe, appropriate staffing and continuity of care. Staff on units within the level of care appropriate for their experience as needed to support critical needs of units. Support orientation, competency validation, and ongoing development of CSO staff. Participate in committees, workgroups, or projects related to staffing, throughput, and quality. Assist in resource management for the Central Staffing Office, including monitoring staffing utilization, premium pay, and productivity. Use data and evidence to advocate for appropriate staffing and resources to support safe, high‑quality care. Support compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and provide coaching and feedback to CSO staff regarding clinical practice, professional behavior, and adherence to policies and standards. Support education related to new systems, workflows, or policies (e.g., updates to communication tools, documentation standards, or credentialing processes). Collaborate with education and clinical practice leaders to identify and address learning needs. Perform other duties as assigned to support safe operations, quality care, and effective staffing across UNC Health Rex. Qualifications: Demonstrated clinical expertise and ability to serve as a resource to nursing staff. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to analyze staffing, quality, and operational data to support decision‑making. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands in a dynamic environment. Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and professional nursing practice. Preferred experience includes prior charge nurse, supervisory or leadership experience and experience with staffing, scheduling, or centralized staffing operations. Other Information Education Requirements: Graduate of accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Must have NC RN Licensure and BLS. Professional certification relevant to the practice area and on the ANCC Magnet approved list within the probationary period of employment. Professional Experience Requirements: Minimum of one year experience working as a licensed RN. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures; document clinical information; communicate effectively with patients and staff; apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
