Pediatric Dentistry of CenLA is looking for an experienced Part-Time Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) who’s ready to put their skills to work and help create great experiences for our young patients. If you’re confident in a busy clinical setting, love working with kids, and want to be part of a supportive team that keeps smiles growing, we’d love to connect. Applicants must hold the current, applicable EDDA certification required for the duties of this role. During the interview process, you will be required to provide your license for review. This is a part-time position three days per week (estimated 23 hours per week).

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• An experienced dental assistant with a current EDDA certification in Louisiana is required for this position. Your license will be requested for review during the interview process.
• A graduate of an accredited dental assisting program.
• A confident, compassionate communicator who helps children and parents feel at ease.

• Someone committed to high-quality care, patient safety, and infection control.
• A positive, patient professional who enjoys working with children.
• Prior pediatric dental experience is a plus.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Clean patients’ teeth and apply fluoride as permitted by your credentials and applicable requirements.
• Perform expanded-duty functions within the scope of your credentials and applicable requirements.
• Take digital radiographs, including bitewings and panoramic images.
• Provide oral hygiene and diet education to children and parents.
• Schedule follow-up exams and help keep the day’s schedule organized.
• Prepare and turn over operatories and treatment areas.
• Support parent consultations and treatment-plan discussions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments; restock treatment rooms and sterilization areas.
• Follow infection-control procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Support practice marketing, community outreach, and referral correspondence.
