In addition to an online store, Rexel USA has a distribution network of over 460 warehouse storefront locations throughout the U.S. Job Description We are looking for a Generator Technician to join our Warshauer Electric Supply team in Tinton, Falls, NJ! Summary The Generator Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, emergency service, and repair of standby power generators. This role will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all components of the generator and automatic transfer switches. What You'll Do Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of standby generators Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair all components of the generator and ATS Document all installed equipment upon arrival of service: make, model, serail number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary Perform start-ups on new power generation equipment Perform warranty work on power generation equipment Process required maintenance and work order paperwork on a timely manner Ensure that all warranty work orders are prepared properly according to warranty policies and that all warranty parts are tagged and turned in Responsible for parts inventory on service truck Participate in the rotating responsibility of a 24/7 on-call technician rotation Other duties as assigned Job Duties Disclaimer The information contained in this job description is intended to describe the essential job functions required of those assigned to this job. Qualifications What You'll Need 1+ years of experience with working on internal combustion engines, including diesel, natural gas, gas, and propane fuel systems Experience driving a service truck, managing inventory, and interacting directly with commercial or residential clients Must have a valid driver's license Must be at least 21 years of age Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record Must not have had their driver's license suspended for traffic accidents/violations within the past 3 years Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years High School or GED - Preferred Other - Preferred Trade School Knowledge, Skills & Abilities A strong understanding if internal combustion engines, AC and DC circuitry, and wiring schematics Additional Information Physical Demands Sit: Must be able to remain in a stationary position - Constantly – at least 51% Walk: Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location - Constantly – at least 51% Use hands to finger, handle, or feel: Operates a computer and other office machinery - Constantly – at least 51% Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet - Constantly – at least 51% Climb or balance: Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment - Occasionally – up to 20% Talk, hear, taste, smell: Must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions - Occasionally – up to 20% Weight And Force Demands Up to 10 pounds - Constantly – at least 51% Up to 25 pounds - Constantly – at least 51% Up to 50 pounds - Frequently – 21% to 50% Working Environment Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and/or exposure to heat and cold - Frequently – 21% to 50% Exposed to electrical hazards; risk of electrical shock - Occasionally – up to 20% Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment - Occasionally – up to 20% Travels to offsite locations - Constantly – at least 51% Rexel USA (A VEVRAA Federal Contractor), and its affiliated companies, is an EEO/Disabled/Veterans employer.
