Position Description #D1278000 POSITION DUTIES: This position is located in a State ARNG Aviation Support Facility (AASF)/Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD)/Army Aviation Training Site (ATTS) Logistics Function. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Small Shop Chief (SSC) with the responsibility for the overall operations of a small shop. The position oversees and directs the work of WG-5378, Powered Support Systems Mechanics, who are assigned to the shop. The incumbent performs the full range of non-supervisory work of the shop.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the individual and lower graded worker(s).
• Possesses the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program.
• Performs the same type and level of work as performed within the unit.
• Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
• Participates in various types of readiness preparations, inspections, evaluations, and mobilization and command support exercises.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
