Oncology Nurse Educator - Pacific Northwest

Oncology Nurse Educator (ONE)This role is field-based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city - San Francisco, Seattle or Portland.The Oncology Nurse Educator (ONE) will be responsible for proactively engaging with allied healthcare professionals to provide product and disease education, in support of before, during and after patient management on approved therapies. The ONE will focus on providing ongoing education and resources related to patient management, dosing and administration, and side effect management. The ONE will collaborate with other field teams within ways of working guidelines to ensure education support for allied healthcare clinicians. The Oncology Nurse Educator (ONE) interacts with allied healthcare clinicians in key targeted accounts and provide clinical in-services and education. The ONE identifies educational needs and expands disease state awareness, initiating and managing patients on a therapy, understanding of symptom management and appropriate patient identification through these educational interactions within a defined geographical region.ResponsibilitiesServe as a strategic education leader across academic and community oncology accounts by way of:Proactive and reactive education with approved resources to the patient care team members.Develops a customized educational plan through the analysis of account dynamics and clinical insights that meet the patient care team's needs and clinical challenges.Educate on the preparation and administration requirements of TA products; and adverse event mitigation, monitoring, and management.Interpret and communicate relevant clinical education topics to diverse audiences as per materials approved for the role.Educate on disease state awareness, including clinical and operational aspects of appropriate patient diagnosis.Provide education programs through 1:1 presentations/in-services and other methods expressly approved, which may include round-table discussions, and podium presentations.Educate patient care teams about the infusion process associated with the product.Utilize strategic questioning and active listening to routinely document and share clinical insights.Attend and provide clinical information and/or presentations at internal national, regional, and local meetings.Provide staff support as appropriate at exhibit booths and displays.Provide support to enhance training initiatives clinically and improve the clinical competencies of the internal sales team.As deemed appropriate, collaborates across internal functional areas as it relates to the Oncology business (e.g., sales, marketing, clinical operations, medical, clinical value & evidence)Potentially provide education to patients in patient advocacy meeting settings using materials and messaging tailored and approved for use with such an audience.QualificationsClinical degree including Bachelor's degree in Nursing or NPMaster's level education preferredThree or more years of combined clinical experience and/or pharmaceutical sales, clinical educator, or medical affairs experience (Oncology preferred)Experience working in or supporting patients and HCPs in the infusion center setting, including the development/implementation of chemotherapy/biologics infusion procedures and protocols for therapy administration and patient safety monitoring is preferred.Excellent communication(s), objective setting, influencing, business acumen, and analytical skillsDemonstrated experience adapting to change and embracing learningDemonstrated experience interpreting clinical and pharmacoeconomic dataRecognizes evolving shifts in oncology market trends and respective effects on provider and patientSuccess operating within a cross-functional teamProficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other relevant applicationsThe individual must be able to travel 50% of the time, including the ability to travel overnight and occasionally on weekendsDriving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipmentValid driver's license: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirementsAdditional InformationThe compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
