Manager In Training (Part Time)

Location: Albertville, Alabama (The Shops of Albertville). Title: Manager in Training. Department: Operations. Salary: $10.35 hourly (non‑exempt). Reports to: Store Manager. Summary The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties, is knowledgeable across all product areas, and supports the store’s goals and initiatives. They promote each sale and act as an ambassador of Hibbett City Gear, providing outstanding customer service and helping to acquire and retain long‑time customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett City Gear. Help establish action plans for departmental and store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager. Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments. Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability. Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are completed. Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends. Ensure quality customer service and perform general administrative duties as needed. Provide extraordinary customer service, including greet and assist customers, especially during peak periods. Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett City Gear. Uphold company policies, procedures, and standards across operational, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals. Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager. Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work, and resolve problems among staff. Qualifications 1–3 years of customer service experience, preferably in retail footwear and athletic apparel. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage a team while maintaining overall goals and profitability. Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being prompted. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
