Duties for Lead Technician Perform comprehensive diagnostics with advanced automotive diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle issues. Carry out repairs and maintenance on key vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and suspensions. Repair or replace components such as ADAS sensors, electrical wiring, and powertrain parts as required. Conduct wheel alignments and wheel balancing to maintain optimal vehicle performance. Utilize schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical problems. Handle diesel engine repairs and auto body repairs whenever necessary. Operate welding equipment and other specialized tools to perform structural repairs when needed. Maintain thorough service records and clearly communicate findings to customers or service advisors. Ensure all work aligns with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic, preferably within a dealership environment. Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, and vehicle maintenance practices. Comfort with ADAS calibration, reading schematics, and using diagnostic software tools. Experience working on GM vehicles is highly desirable. Skillful use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and alignment machines. Ability to efficiently and accurately diagnose complex automotive problems. Exceptional mechanical skills paired with a customer‑oriented approach. Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ASE certification is favorable. Commitment to ongoing professional development in evolving automotive technologies.
