VP of Procurement & Accounts Payable - Job Description Position Overview The Vice President of Procurement & Accounts Payable will provide strategic leadership over the organization's procurement and accounts payable functions, overseeing purchasing, vendor management, AP operations, process improvement, and financial controls. This role will partner closely with Finance, Operations, and executive leadership to optimize spending, strengthen vendor relationships, improve cash management, and ensure efficient and compliant procure-to-pay processes. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the procurement and accounts payable functions across the organization Develop and execute procurement strategies that reduce costs, improve quality, and maximize vendor value Oversee vendor selection, onboarding, negotiations, contracts, pricing, and ongoing vendor relationships Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, approval workflows, and internal controls Manage the full procure-to-pay cycle, including purchasing, purchase orders, receiving, invoice processing, and payment Oversee high-volume accounts payable operations, including invoice coding, three-way matching, payment processing, and vendor reconciliations Partner with Finance and Accounting leadership to ensure accurate AP reporting and timely month-end close Monitor AP aging, cash requirements, payment schedules, and working capital Identify opportunities to automate and streamline procurement and AP processes Establish KPIs and reporting around procurement savings, vendor performance, AP aging, payment accuracy, and processing efficiency Lead contract negotiations and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved terms Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, tax requirements, and applicable procurement regulations Oversee vendor master data and ensure accurate and controlled vendor setup and maintenance Manage and develop procurement and AP teams, establishing performance expectations and operational goals Support audits and provide documentation related to procurement, AP, and vendor transactions Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic sourcing, budgeting, forecasting, and organizational initiatives Lead ERP, AP automation, procurement technology, and other process improvement initiatives as needed Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
