Role Description The Engineering Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This educator will design and deliver engaging engineering and STEM-focused lessons, aligned with school curricula and state standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning instructional units, teaching classes, assessing student learning, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student progress. The Engineering Teacher will integrate project-based learning, technology, and real-world applications into coursework, while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Additional responsibilities include participating in school-wide initiatives, communicating with families and colleagues, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to teach engineering or related STEM subjects, with experience developing and delivering standards-aligned lesson plans. Skills in classroom management, student engagement, and differentiation to support diverse learning needs and backgrounds. Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and colleagues in a public school environment. Comfort with educational technology, engineering software, and hands-on lab or project-based instructional approaches. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Valid or eligibility for appropriate New York State teaching certification in a relevant subject area. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
