Freedom House Sober Living is committed to helping individuals overcoming substance abuse by providing sober living arrangements, inpatient treatment, and outpatient services. We foster a compassionate environment designed to empower clients on their path to independence.

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Community Engagement & Job Development Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining partnerships with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to promote our organizational goals while enhancing employment opportunities for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and sustain partnerships with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to further our mission.
• Act as the primary contact for community outreach initiatives; organize events and disseminate information about available services.
• Engage with local employers to identify job openings, foster partnerships, and advocate for employment programs.
• Provide comprehensive job search support to clients, including resume writing, interview preparation, and job retention coaching.
• Gather and analyze community input to inform program development, ensuring that services align with community needs.
• Be an advocate for clients and community members within our organization, ensuring their needs are prioritized in service delivery.
• Conduct outreach to both employers and community members to expand employment and partnership opportunities.
• Maintain detailed records of outreach activities, employer engagements, and client placements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate workforce development services effectively.
• Track and report on client employment outcomes and program success metrics.
• Attend community events that promote the recovery community, such as coalition meetings and recovery seminars.
• Network with referral sources and attend recreational and educational events at Freedom House.
• Participate in fundraising activities for Freedom House Sober Living to support our mission.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field (preferred).
• Previous experience in community engagement, job development, or social services.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and advocate effectively.
• Familiarity with workforce development and community resources.
• Ability to organize events and outreach initiatives effectively.
• Passion for community service and supporting individuals in their employment journeys.
• Proficiency in relevant software for maintaining records and tracking outcomes.
