Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.Senior Accountant Job SummaryReporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the monthly close process, financial statement consolidation, maintaining internal controls, preparing financial statements, supporting schedules for internal and external reporting, and assisting with the annual audit.This job is hybrid after training with Tues, Wed, and Thur. on site in our beautiful Ladera Ranch Corporate Office and Mon & Fri WFH. Training requires on-site daily, length of training is dependent on experience.Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesAssists with the preparation of the monthly financial statement consolidation and quarterly financial statement package for Senior Management.Coordinates and review monthly reporting from property accountants.Assists with SEC filings.Produces journal entries, account reconciliations, and other general accounting duties.Maintains the general ledger.Supports integration of new acquisitions.Prepares supplemental financial schedules.Assists in the preparation of internal reports for variance analysis.Assists with external financial statement audits.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications NeededBachelor's degree in accounting or finance or comparable work experience.Minimum of 2 years' experience in Public Accounting and/or private company accounting experience.CPA or in process of licensure preferred, not required.Prior experience working in REIT a plus.Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.Highly proficient with accounting software.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.BenefitsCompetitive salaryHealth insurance including medical, dental and visionLife and Disability InsurancesAmple paid time offGenerous holiday schedule401(k) + matching with no waiting periodEmployee assistance programPaid employee referral programFree car washes every other weekFree catered lunch every other weekA collaborative and fun work environment!DiversitySmartStop® Self Storage, is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
