Location Dallas, TX, United States Job ID: 89434 Operations Management Program The Operations Management Program is a 12‑month structured development experience combining formal training with immersive, hands‑on field exposure. The program builds a pipeline of operational leaders by equipping participants with technical knowledge, business acumen, and leadership capabilities. Responsibilities The program is divided into three phases, each with specific learning objectives: Phase 1 – Orientation and Introduction to Schindler (≈ 3 months): Attend in‑person kickoff and orientation at U.S. Headquarters in Morristown, NJ. Participate in the “EI Deliver” eLearning program to understand the service business. Engage in the “New Leader Voyage” program to observe leadership practices. Learn the basics of the Field Superintendent role and how it integrates with other departments. Participate in ride‑along sessions with local Superintendents to observe technicians on site. Phase 2 – Technical Field Immersion (≈ 3 months): Receive a temporary union card to work under an Elevator Union Mechanic. Assist with elevator and/or escalator service, repair, or installation depending on the business line. Develop practical knowledge of safety procedures, hazard recognition, and proper use of personal protective equipment. Phase 3 – Supervision, Quality, and Compliance (≈ 6 months): Shadow the local Field Quality Excellence team to understand auditing, testing, and compliance processes. Gain focused knowledge of safety, code compliance, and maintenance best practices. Manage a limited workforce in a controlled local environment to practice hands‑on leadership. Receive performance evaluations from Branch and Area management. Explore placement opportunities upon graduation based on local, territorial, or national vacancies. Upon completion, participants must be willing to relocate to other locations within their local territory if a permanent, full‑time Field Superintendent position is not immediately available at their host training location. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (preferred). Open to relocation with company assistance to selected cities after completion of the program. Previous military or other leadership experience is highly desirable. Prior work experience or internships in construction, service/maintenance, or a related industry is a plus. Strong customer‑service, organizational, and communication skills.
