Respiratory Therapist CRT or RRT

Job Location 1000 WATERMAN WAY, TAVARES, FL 32778 Job Schedule Full-time. Night shift (6pm to 6:45am). Responsibilities Demonstrates knowledge of techniques and treatment modalities for patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric. Documents all pertinent data on the patient’s medical record after completing service. Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understanding the purpose and possible side effects of each. Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment, remaining alert to possible side effects. Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators, including airway management and tracheal suctioning. Performs arterial punctures to obtain blood samples for gas analysis, understanding complications and contraindications. Assesses patient needs and tolerance for treatment, reassessing responses to therapy. Formulates and evaluates teaching plans based on patient learning needs, including family involvement as appropriate. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology [Required] Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems [Required] Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively to carry out job requirements [Required] Ability to ensure infection control [Required] Effective oral and written communication skills, including documentation in the patient care record (EMR), and ability to use and adapt to computer systems and applications [Required] Airway management skills, including insertion and maintenance of a patent airway [Required] Ability to provide optimal respiratory support including administration of oxygen and Heliox, administration of inhaled medications, lung expansion, and bronchial hygiene therapy [Required] Ability to appropriately initiate, operate, manage, and liberate non-invasive and invasive modes of mechanical ventilation [Required] Ability to perform ABG Puncture, analysis, arterial cannulation using sterile procedure, and hemodynamic monitoring [Required] Ventilator patient transportation [Required] Knowledge and skill to care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient in a health care delivery system [Required] Education Associate's [Required] Field of Study Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science Work Experience 1+ years experience as a respiratory therapist [Preferred] Licenses and Certifications State Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Required] NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Required] State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] Pay Range $26.08 - $48.50 Bonuses Up to $10,000.00 Sign On Bonus.
